The following was confirmed by Dakota Fanning's Reps yesterday, she will officially meet director Chris Weitz next week to discuss New Moon:According to E Online, actress Dakota Fanning has been offered the role of Jane in the upcoming New Moon movie. I am personally pleased with the choice if the rumors are true, she is truly a talented young actress and she can probably portray the creepy vampire with great accuracy...now, who would you pick to play Alec? (Today, EW suggested that HSM's Lucas Grabeel could play the evil vampire, a choice that seems somewhat appropriate since he has his own repertoire of indi films under his belt and since he can actually act; out of that whole clan, he is the one that may actually be able to pull it off, then again, this is only EW's suggestion and we may still be better off keeping anything related to Disney away from the Twilight franchise)

I really think she could be good. I'm amazed at the people online screaming "she'll ruin the movie." Oh brother. She'll do fine, if she gets it. She's got a really interesting face and I think she can pull off that creepy smile of Jane's. I'm looking forward to it! I have no idea who Alec should be, though.
