Vanessa Hudgens: Leah Clearwater?

Rumors, rumors, rumors...lets see what happens with this one, but reportedly, Vanessa Hudgens will be cast as Leah in New Moon... I still don't have an opinion on this one. Yeah, I admit it, I am one of the freaks that likes High School Musical, mainly because I like musicals and because I thought it was a good concept, and yeah, she will most likely bring in even more teens to the saga but.... oh well, as long as Zack Efron is not cast as Sam and they brake into song in the middle of the forrest I guess I may be ok with it.

SURELY they aren't serious. As if Twilight wasn't already at risk of becoming a Disney circus of a franchise, this would seal the deal.

Not only is Hudgens ethnically inappropriate, she would present a ridiculously unnecessary distraction.

Hmmmm. Honestly, I'm not feeling this one. But, hey, it wouldn't be the first time I was happily surprised by casting. I'd really like to see some more "lesser known" people put in Mew Moon. And I really don't know how I feel about Dakota Fanning as Jane. She's a good little actress, don't get me wrong. I just have a hard time seeing these people in the roles until they are up on the screen.

I am hoping that the Vanessa rumors are just that, rumors. I did hear that this Native American girl from Seattle is being considered for Leah:

City girl, how is she ethnically inappropriate??? She is NATIVE American!! Also, the guy who plays as the dad in Stuart little is the moody doctor in in the tv series House so there is nothing wrong with a former Disney star playing a role in twilight as they have nothing to do with it. I mean, do you really think mickey mouse is going to jump out of nowhere and start biting people?? You guys really haven't thought your opinions through fully.
